Jar candles are very easy to make gifts and are only limited by your imagination!
To start, you need some jars narrow mouth canning, wire ribbon, potpourri, candles, small glass candle holder, handicrafts and glue or hot glue gun.
If you do not have old bottles, you can find some very cheap at flea markets and yard sales. Ribbon wire can be a bit expensive. Look it up in sales of construction and sales to the removal of boats from the shop. Christmas sales after a big moment for action. A roll of tape makes several jar candles. Potpourri can do yourself or buy on sale. Votive candles are inexpensive at stores like Target or Wal-Mart, and you can also find crystal chandeliers very inexpensive at Walmart. Want one which is fixed at the edge of the pot of preserves.
You can fill the jar preserved with anything you want. Potpourri is a load easier. I purchased an autumn-Nice scented potpourri and added some dried orange slices I had in my dehydrator. You can also add dried cranberries, apple slices or sticks cinnamon.
After filling the bottle, set the candlestick in the mouth of the bottle. The top of the candle holder should be even with the top the pot. You might have a bit of trial and error before finding just the right chandelier. Place the candle in the holder and then use tape to attach a big knot around the neck of the bottle. That's it! (You can use small craft glue or glue gun to tack the ribbon in place).
You can paste some nuts, flowers or other decorations on the front of a more decorative. You can also put other things besides the jar of potpourri. I saw half full of white sugar with a small white candle set in the sugar. Very nice! And that spider is not required.
At Christmas, you can buy small ornaments and place them in the pot instead of potpourri. Any small figurine would do - in spring, you can use bunnies.
Maybe fill a jar with marbles or layers of colored sand. Even under! Use your imagination. These candles are great gifts and fun do it yourself. If you are tired of just empty and repeat!
