This seems to be a question people often ask me for Christmas dinner. Even my hairdresser and my husband asked me what to serve for dessert for Christmas dinner, I realized that it is a popular question.
Personally, I like to serve dessert flambé or flaming strike. It's so fun and adds to the excitement of the event. For the flames, I think the traditional Cherries Jubilee is hard to beat. It's so simple, with very little advance preparation and the colors of Christmas red and white and green, if you add a leaf.

To serve, warm slightly in microwave (about three minutes) or in a moderate oven for 20 minutes or until the liquid at the bottom has softened and glide easily. Then, using a table knife, put it on the edge of each plate and eventually turn into a small dish.
Notes: A large blank space can do if you prefer. It will take longer to cool and should be done one day ahead.
